Types of Butterflies in Nevada

This western US state shows a wide variety of butterfly species, with about 222 species spotted in Nevada. Among them, about 17 species found in the Mojave Desert, nearby mountain ranges, and national parks; other habitats include parts of Great Basin national park, Spring Mountains, Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest. Nevada has not designated any butterfly species as the state-butterfly.
