Butterflies in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is home to around 250 butterfly species. Several of these are endemic to the country and cannot be found any where else including the national butterfly of Sri Lanka – the appropriately named Sri Lanka Birdwing. Other notable species include the Ceylon Tiger, the Ceylon Cereleun, and the Sri Lankan Lesser Albatross.
