Butterflies in India

India is home to over 1300 butterfly species, several of which cannot be found anywhere else in the world. Many of these butterflies can be seen in the southern part of the country, around the region referred to as the Western Ghats. Some common species in the country include the Common Tiger, the Commander, and the Great Eggfly.
